IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Will my Doodle shed?
While Doodles are a wonderful option to consider for those with mild pet allergies, there is no guarantee that can be made that your Doodle will be 100% non-shedding or hypoallergenic. That can only be achieved with pure breeds such as a Poodle, Schnauzer, etc. This is because there is no breed standard for Doodles as they are a mixed breed dog. It's most accurate to set your expectations that Doodles in general are a "low-shedding" breed. However, it is certainly possible to get a hypoallergenic Doodle -- In my experience, it seems that the Doodles with curly hair are most likely non-shedding, and if they have wavy or straight hair, they will generally be "low-shedding". They won't shed nearly as much as a breed like German Shepherds, but you may find small amounts of hair here and there, especially as their hair grows and gets longer. The best way to mitigate any shedding is to keep them well-groomed, and to keep in mind the curlier hair they have, the less likely they are to shed! Also, asking your breeder about their past puppies and if they have typically been low-shedding or non-shedding can definitely bring clarity to your search.
  • Are Aussiedoodles hyper?
The short answer is most of the time, no! Aussiedoodles can make wonderful companions for a wide variety of people. Though not typically a "lazy" dog, they do have a range of energy levels. Most of the puppies we've had through our program have a moderate energy level. They have plenty of energy to play and keep up with an active lifestyle, but when they're in the house with you, they're perfectly content to lay down and relax. Occasionally we'll see a pup with a higher energy level than the rest, but that is something we recognize and can then make sure that puppy is matched with someone that wants a higher energy companion.
  • Are Doodles indoor or outdoor dogs?
Aussiedoodles are meant to live in the house with you. They do not typically have a double coat, and are therefore not equipped to handle very high or very low temperatures. Of course they love to be outside and should absolutely have plenty of outdoor playtime, but if you plan on adding an Aussiedoodle (or any doodle) to your pack, plan on them living in the house with you.
  • Do I have to groom my Doodle?
Yes! Whether curly, straight, or wavy-haired, all Aussiedoodles need to be groomed and brushed to prevent matting. And because of the nature of doodle hair (it continuously grows!) they will need to see a professional groomer, or be groomed at home to keep their hair cut to the length you desire and can maintain mat-free.
  • What is ENS Training?
ENS training is Early Neurological Stimulation. I (the breeder) perform 5 short, simple exercises with each puppy once a day from the time they are 3 days old until they are 16 days old to kickstart their neurological system. The benefits of ENS training include things like a stronger heart, more tolerance to stress, greater resistance to disease, and more. The AKC website has a great article explaining in further detail linked here: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/dog-breeding/breeder-puppy-socialization-early-neurological-stimulation/
